I worked for 2 years in Cisco as a Software Engineer in Collaboration Technology Group. I was part of a team responsible for performing end-to-end solution test for Cisco Unified Contact Center Solutions on actual testbeds which are replicas of actual customer deployments. I was responsible for automation (using Python) of contact center call flows along with UI validations (using Sikuli) for agent desktops. During my 2 year stint in Cisco, I also had opportunities to work on Web Development projects with frameworks like Java Spring MVC, Django, BottlePy etc. Read More

Student Developer | Google Summer of Code | Mumbai, India
May – Aug 2012

GSoC2012
Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program sponsored by Google that offers students stipends to write code for open source projects. Every year Google shortlists open source organisations to sponsor. Interested students pitch proposals to these organisations for the projects that want to work. Few students are chosen for working in the project throughout the summer giving the student a real software development experience. I was a student (among 1200 others international students) developer in GSoC 2012 for KomodoOpenLab . I had to design and implement a cross-platform desktop client for Tecla Shield. Tecla Shield is an Arduino based open-hardware assistive device which enables wheelchair bound users to use their smartphone. The whole proposal can be found here. Read More

Android Developer | Mumbai, India
May 2011 onwards

It was 2011 and Android was gaining popularity quite fast. I had bought my first android phone and already played a lot with it. Open Source World is awesome. With the intention of learning Android Application Development, I started developing Android applications after my second year of engineering. I developed two applications available for download in Google Play Store. My first app is called Vocopedia. It is a vocabulary builder application with flashcards and a basic Hangman game. It is targetted towards students who are going to appear for entrance exams involving a vocabulary component like GRE, SAT, CAT etc. It has 15000+ downloads and a rating of 4+ in the Play Store. The second application I made is called SocialWebbie which is a social networking application which tries to amalgamate Facebook and Twitter in a single app. The app is not very popular but I got to learn API concepts.I also gained some familiarity with Facebook Graph API and Twitter API.
